Educational Institutes and the relationship between the different technologies

assessed activity 3.1

Organisation. E.I.T Taradale
3 digital learning technologies and their role:

  • Wikieducator: This displays tutorials, resources, activities and makes them available to students. this plays a major role in the class room when the tutor is referencing things that are from his wikieducator page. http://wikieducator.org/VirtualMV
  • E.I.T Online: This is a tool that displays all of the course information for students. Students can enroll in courses and receive important notices via student webmail. http://eitonline.eit.ac.nz/
  • Adobe Connect: This is an exceptional tool allowing students to connect to a live lab session via video link. Contributing by chat session or microphone.

assessed activity 2.3

i find that the biggest problem with ubiquitous learning is juggling life's busy schedule. finding time to research and plan. setting aside time to deligate between other papers, social life and study.

assessed activity 2.2

the most memorable integrated technology would have to be the mavis beacon teaches typing. I learned from a very young age and i can still remember having to keep up a steady pace of typing so that i could win the car race 20+ years later :)

one instance i can remember where technology was a barrier to my learning was last year when i was doing the Introduction to programming paper and i didn't know the enrollment code to access the course requirements on EIT online. I had to wait a whole week until i could ask the tutor in class what the enrollment code was. thus costing me valuable time and learning.
