assessed activity 2.3

i find that the biggest problem with ubiquitous learning is juggling life's busy schedule. finding time to research and plan. setting aside time to deligate between other papers, social life and study.

assessed activity 2.2

the most memorable integrated technology would have to be the mavis beacon teaches typing. I learned from a very young age and i can still remember having to keep up a steady pace of typing so that i could win the car race 20+ years later :)

one instance i can remember where technology was a barrier to my learning was last year when i was doing the Introduction to programming paper and i didn't know the enrollment code to access the course requirements on EIT online. I had to wait a whole week until i could ask the tutor in class what the enrollment code was. thus costing me valuable time and learning.

assessed activity 2.1

Resource-based learning:
1) Last year when i began the Diploma of Information and Communication Technology we had to build a website from scratch. Most of the learning we did was from resouces that we had found ourselves. such as online tutorials, online books and actual books. my brother bought me a book on HTML5 javascript and css which was of little use because my reading is very slow and if i am not in the right head space i find it hard to concentrate and retain information. the effectiveness of this method was positive but i found it to be very challenging.
2) e learning would be integrated by have the resources online such as wikipedia, online books, kindle and online tutorials like you-tube.

Inquiry-based learning:
1) last year i finished the Internet and web development 500 paper and this year my tutor M.Verhaart has set up a series of questions/activities to refresh our memories and skills on building a basic website.
2) e learning has already been integrated with the questions/activities being on wikieducator

Project-based learning:
1) currently i am studying a diploma in multimedia and web development. One of my papers include project based learning, where by i must carry out and complete a project with no class time. it is solely upon myself to research my chosen topic design and build a multimedia presentation then present it at the end of the semester. i think this is a very effective way of teaching students how to prepare for a real world project.
2) e learning could be integrated by maybe setting up a session on adobe connect for disscussion or a url for a google document in which the tutor and students could upload images of the assignment and recieve feedback via comments.

Game-based learning:
1) when i was very little my parents bought me and my brothers an educational suite of games. and one of them was Mavis Beacon teaches typing. this was an excellent way of teaching someone to type on a qwerty keyboard. the effectiveness was very positive because when i got to high school i had a very fast typing speed of around 40-50 words per minute.
2) e learning was already integrated because it required a desktop pc to run the application.

VAKOG stands for Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic, Olfactory and Gustatory (human sensory systems)

(NLP) stands for natural language processing.

1)  according to James.F.Allen NLP and VAKOG are closely related because NLP uses VAKOG to "attempt to understand, or produce one or more human languages, such as English, Japanese, Italian, or Russian. The input might be text, spoken language, or keyboard input. The task might be to translate to another language, to comprehend and represent the content of text, to build a database or generate summaries, or to maintain a dialogue with a user as part of an interface for database/information retrieval. Similar techniques can be used for spoken language by adding a system for speech recognition."

Pages 1218-1222

2)according to Ralph Grishman: Natural language processing has two primary roles to play in the storage and retrieval of large bodies of information: providing a friendly, easily-learned interface to information retrieval systems, and automatically structuring texts so that their information can be more easily processed and retrieved. This article outlines the organization of a natural language interface for data retrieval (a “question—answering system”) and some of the approaches being taken to text structuring. It closes by describing a few of the research issues in computational linguistics and a possibility for using interactive natural language processing for information acquisition.

1) according to OSBORNE. M 2013 ubiquitous learning is anytime anywhere. for example if the river underneath the bridge you are crossing is muddy instead of clear, you can look up google maps and find the mountain range where that water is coming from. then pull up geological data to find out that the mountain has recently had a lot of rainfall.

2)according to the education 2025 website. Ubiquitous learning is often simply defined as learning anywhere, anytime and is therefore closely associated with mobile technologies. The portability of computers and computing devices has blurred the traditional lines between formal and informal learning.

introduction

hi my name is cameron garnett. i am 30yrs old from napier. my interests are cricket, swimming, zombies, playing guitar, drums and cooking.

the implications of students making introductions on their blog posts is, anyone can see that post. Maybe someone that they didn't want know about them has access to personal information about that person. I could be hacked and people could say things about me that aren't true. my Facebook page has been hacked before and someone posted a comment about me on my page. and i was very mad. i found out who the person was. it was intended to be a joke but i didn't find it that funny.
